Each type of seed has a different quantity that will "fill up the jar" once grown. In general, the smaller seeds expand to a larger size compared to the larger seeds. So 5 grams of something small like alfalfa will fill up a whole jar, whereas you may need 20 grams of a larger seed (such as peas) to fill up a jar of pea sprouts.
We've simplified it to make it a bit easier (tsp = teaspoon = 5 grams).
- Broccoli - 2 tsp
- Red cabbage - 2 tsp
- Onion - 3tsp
- Peas - 5tsp
- Mung beans - 3 tsp
- Fenugreek - 3tsp
- Kale - 2 tsp
- Alfalfa - 1tsp
Hope this helps - get growing!
